Brooklyn Brownstone Townhouse
This single-family, three story 1899 property in the heart of a brownstone-lined Brooklyn street was entirely renovated to its original luster, and then some. The goal of this project was to remove years of wear from a tired building by gutting all of its utilities and improper cosmetic fixes and exposing all of its original bones. During renovation existing plaster moldings and tin ceilings were uncovered, stripped and refinished to their original state. This home was formerly a two family dwelling and has now been converted to a single family residence consisting of the kitchen and dining room on the first floor. The second floor hosts the foyer, formal living room and den, and the third floor contains three bedrooms and bathrooms for the family. The interior design is a nod to the époque of the structure and a bow to our times, mixing classic furnishings with impactful use of color and artwork to achieve a space which feels correct for the times and for the frame in which it is held.
